You’ve seen the Ketogenic Diet also known as ‘Keto’ mentioned everywhere lately. The keto diet is a low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet that was originally used by people with epilepsy to help manage seizures. However, it’s now widely used as a weight loss tool. Being in a state of ketosis, in which your body burns fat instead of carbs for energy, Yet, because the diet can affect the brain and nervous system — as it does with epilepsy — it may also affect your mood.
