As a native of Washington, DC, Alia spent most of her early life and medical training living up and down the East coast. As a young adult, Alia was drawn to medicine after watching her grandmother suffer from chronic disease. In recent years, Alia has become the primary care giver to her mother who has Parkinson’s disease. From her experiences, she has come to appreciate the complexities and challenges associated with living with chronic disease and strives to incorporate these sensitivities into the care she provides to her patients. She also is a big proponent of preventive health, and prioritizes maintaining optimal health during all stages of life. Dr. Alia is an Internist at Tualatin Internal Medicine and an ACC Aging Mastery Program Facilitator.
