Sports, Media, Culture and the 1960s
Tuesday, April 30, 2024 - 11:00am
At the ACC we value creating opportunities for participants to make new friends and meet people who share similar values and interests as well as broaden your perspective. We invite you to check out some of our new discussion and social groups and expand your social circle!
Join a discussion led by Jerry Cohen, JD and owner of Evolving Elders, about how sports reflected and shaped the transformative decade of the 1960s in America, covering topics such as the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and the Rise of Television. Read works by David Halberstam, David Maraniss, and Geoffrey Ward & Ken Burns to gain a deeper understanding the impact sports had on cultural and societal changes in the 1960s.
