Tigard Pipeline and Bonita Pump Station Construction Update

Bonita Pump Station
The pump station is entering its final stages of construction and restoration! Over the next few weeks, crews will be onsite to landscape the grounds and complete the irrigation system installation. Crews will also install a chain-link fence around the site as well as a wrought iron fence and gate near the entrance of the building.
Inside the pump station, some final painting of the walls and pipes is expected to be finished next week. Over the next few months, the pump station will undergo testing and chlorination to begin the process of being put into service. Please note, the testing schedule is dependent on the pipeline installation along Bonita Road and schedules are subject to change.
Bonita Road Pipeline
Pipeline work has recently been on a break as crew members worked up at the Waluga Reservoir site to make critical connections for the new system.
Beginning next week, crews expect to resume pipeline work and switch to daytime construction. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The work zone shifts to the area south of the Bonita Road freeway overpass, just past Sequoia Parkway, to install the last sections of pipe. This portion will connect the recently-installed pipeline with the pipeline that was tunneled under I-5 in May.
To complete this work, crews are breaking down their storage yard off Sequoia Parkway and have removed the old, existing Bonita Pump Station, which is no longer in use.
The final paving of Bonita Road will occur after the pipeline is pressure tested and disinfected, likely in fall 2015.
About Bonita Pump Station
The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in fall 2015.
