Pipeline work resumes near Bonita Road

Bonita Road Pipeline
Pipeline work has resumed in the area south of the Bonita Road freeway overpass (pictured right). Crews began at the site of the I-5 auger bore and are working towards Sequoia Parkway. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This final section of pipeline is expected to be complete by next month. Afterwards, crews plan to restore the site, including irrigation systems and landscaping. The final paving of Bonita Road will occur after the pipeline is pressure tested and disinfected, likely this fall.
Bonita Pump Station
The pump station is entering its final stages of construction and restoration! Over the next few weeks, crews will be onsite to finish landscaping the grounds and complete the irrigation system installation. Crews are installing chain-link fence around the site as well as a wrought iron fence and gate near the entrance of the building.
Over the next few months, the pump station will undergo testing and chlorination to begin the process of being put into service. Please note, the testing schedule is dependent on the pipeline installation along Bonita Road and schedules are subject to change.
Did You Know?
The new Bonita pump station is resilient against large seismic events, featuring discharge pumps with their own foundations and flexible couplings. These design features allow the pumps to move independently from the building during an earthquake. In addition, the building utilizes reinforced masonry shear walls that prevent crumbling.

About Bonita Pump Station
The Bonita Pump Station will connect with several local water systems including Lake Oswego, Portland and Washington County. This supply collaboration will keep Tigard protected should one water supply become interrupted. Completion is expected in fall 2015.
