The Project Advisory Committee, or PAC, for the Boones Ferry Project met for the third time with project consultants and staff on June 16th. The PAC selected an eclectic theme for the streetscape that can reflect the varied building styles in Lake Grove. The PAC approved a theme balanced with several important elements: nature, history, art and sustainability. In the second part of the meeting, designers from Nevue Ngan Associates and Tahran Architecture & Planning introduced a toolbox of elements that the group will pick from for the streetscape design. The toolkit that will change and grow through the summer includes street trees and landscaping, benches, artwork and lighting. The streetscape design conversation will continue for several months with a special emphasis on stormwater management in July.
The primary purpose of the PAC is to advise and make recommendations to the Project Team on the design of streetscape elements. PAC meetings are open to the public. Each meeting provides time for public comment. The group meets from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the second Tuesday of each month.
