Latest Construction News

Lake Grove Water Line

The new Lake Grove Water District water line on Boones Ferry Road is now disinfected and crews are switching over customers’ services tonight. Any customers that will have their water service temporarily shut-off during the re-connections have been notified in advance by the Lake Grove Water District.

Tonight, 9/16 through Friday, 9/20, the Bryant/Firwood/Boones Ferry signal will be turned off and traffic will be flagged between 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. Crews will begin installing the Lake Grove Water District water line down Bryant Road, between Boones Ferry Road and Sunset Drive. This work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

Lake Oswego Water Line

Starting mid-late next week, pipe laying crews will switch from Bryant Road and begin working on installing a new water line for the City of Lake Oswego on Firwood Road between Boones Ferry and Waluga Drive. This work is expected to take about two or three weeks to complete. Due to high volumes of traffic, this work will be done at night and traffic will be flagged from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.

New Stormwater Line

In late September, another crew will begin working on installing a new stormwater line between Madrona Street and Bryant Road. This work is expected to be conducted at night.

Underground Utility Trench

The work zone has been extended on Boones Ferry Road, from W. Sunset Drive to Quarry Road.

Crews continue to coordinate with the numerous utility companies and are installing new utility vaults and the underground duct bank (conduits) in the work zone between Madrona and Bryant. This work has been slow-going due to the frequent discovery of many un-located, abandoned and unknown utilities.

Northwest Natural Gas is currently relocating a gas line and making re-connections for properties adjacent to the work zone.

The majority of this work is occurring during the daytime. Major utility crossings, some shutdowns, as well as any work on vaults that need to be installed in the current travel lanes are being conducted at night. Any planned temporary utility shutdowns will be coordinated with customers by each utility company.

During the trench excavation, businesses in the active work zone should expect driveways to remain open at most times, however there may be temporary delays or partial closures during equipment or material deliveries. Crews will work with businesses to coordinate driveway excavation work. Please watch for flaggers and plan extra time.

Retaining Walls

Crews have started preparing and excavating for new retaining walls at the corner of Madrona and Boones Ferry, and Bryant and Boones Ferry.

Temporary Signals, Permanent Signals and Street Lights

In the coming weeks, electrical crews are expected to begin installing temporary and permanent signal pole bases, and poles and cables for new street lights.
