The PAC meeting originally scheduled for January 21 has been cancelled. This will provide the design team and PAC Subcommittees additional time to prepare recommendations on the streetscape design.
The next PAC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21 in the City Hall Council Chamber from 9:00 am -11:00 am.
The November 15th meeting of the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting was primarily devoted to selecting a design concept for the four signalized intersections along Boones Ferry Road at Madrona, Firwood/Bryant, McDonald’s and Oakridge/Reese. The PAC settled on an all asphalt intersection with vertical markers (yet to be designed) in the medians to help delineate the intersections. The group felt that the intersection options with concrete crosswalks and center area created excessive traffic and access impacts to businesses and neighborhoods due to their extended construction periods, were too costly, and wouldn’t maintain their initial aesthetic appeal over the long term. The group also heard updates on the 60% design package costs and a revised PAC meeting schedule.
From January to June 2017, the PAC will be busy finalizing the streetscape design, including the selection of materials, plants, furnishings and art. At the same time, the project team will be working on right-of-way acquisitions and moving towards the 95% design package. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2018.
There will be no PAC in December. The next PAC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday January 18th, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Lake Oswego City Council Chambers.

The August 16th meeting of the Project Advisory Committee meeting resulted in a number of significant streetscape materials decisions along with agreement on how to proceed with the Quarry Road intersection. Quarry Road will be realigned as best as possible to improve sight lines for traffic entering Boones Ferry Road. There will continue to be a landscaped island with a neighborhood sign that provides a pedestrian refuge when crossing the street. Streetscape decisions included selection of light pole type (including the base, fixtures and mounting bracket location), sidewalk scoring pattern and pavers at trees, and expanded sidewalk area finishes and pedestrian button pole locations. A discussion of signalized intersection treatments reaffirmed that crosswalks should be highlighted with concrete. The decision of whether to make the entire intersection concrete or leave it asphalt was tabled until the next meeting.

The focus of the July 19 Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting was art and history. The group discussed potential historic themes and ideas for the integration of art into the streetscape plan for Boones Ferry Road. In addition, they discussed potential changes to improve vehicle and pedestrian safety at the intersection of Boones Ferry Road and Quarry Road. Lastly, the committee received information about potential crosswalk treatments and design which they will discuss at a future meeting.
The next PAC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday August 16, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. The goal of this meeting is to review additional information on the Quarry Road and Boones Ferry Road intersection, share results of the Streetscape Materials Subcommittee meeting and discuss intersection and crossing treatments on Boones Ferry Road. Materials for this meeting is anticipated to be posted on the project web page by Friday, August 12.
