Boones Ferry Road Project Community Meeting

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, 4040 Sunset Drive, Lake Oswego

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

For several months, the Boones Ferry Road Project Advisory Committee (PAC) has met to advise staff and consultants on decisions about the project. Their discussions have included roadway design to support on-site stormwater treatment and intersection safety/operation improvements. Working closely with designers they are in the process of developing a theme for the streetscape (sidewalks and public areas) that reflects the varied building styles in Lake Grove. Their goal is to highlight the area’s nature, history, art and sustainability. The PAC will continue to meet through 2016. Next year, more detailed design will begin, and construction is estimated to start in 2017.

Geotechnical Exploration on Boones Ferry Road

The initial survey work for Boones Ferry Road is almost complete. The next phase is geotechnical exploration.  This investigative work will inform future design of the roadway improvements.  Borings begin in early-May and continue for approximately three weeks.  Work will occur in the traffic lanes on Boones Ferry Road between Madrona Street and Lanewood Street; primarily at night between the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am to minimize traffic impacts.  Expect short one-lane closures with traffic control and flaggers. Lights will be directed on the work zone to minimize glare. Crews will use noise reducing equipment to lessen impacts to nearby neighborhoods.

For questions about the geotechnical work, please call Terry Song with WHPacific at 503-372-3518 or 971-228-9814.

For questions about the Boones Ferry Road Project, call Sid Sin with the City of Lake Oswego at 503-697-7421.
