Foothills Plan Opportunities and Constraints Story Map
The City is continuing to make progress in its effort to update the Foothills District Framework Plan, which outlines how the Foothills neighborhood should grow and change over time.
The project team recently initiated an extensive public engagement campaign for the project, including stakeholder identification and outreach, Planning Commission work sessions, City Council study sessions, developer interviews, and professionally-moderated focus groups with Lake Oswego Residents. It has also included conducting several meetings of a Technical Advisory Committee made up of City staff, partner agencies, and organizations, and a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) established to provide guidance to ensure that Plan updates reflect current community values.
The Foothills CAC is scheduled to conduct their fourth meeting on January 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Trillium Room in the lower level of the Adult Community Center. The meeting will be focused on establishing guiding principles that will inform the development of conceptual land use and circulation scenarios for the District. In addition, the project team recently completed a detailed technical assessment of existing conditions in the neighborhood, including a comprehensive analysis of opportunities and constraints for the forthcoming Plan update. The results of these tasks can be easily reviewed in a Story Map developed for this phase of the project, which includes several survey questions for members of the public to provide input.
