Planning Commission Meeting - Monday, June 25, 2018 - Work Session on Short-Term Rentals
Short Term Rentals (STRs) of dwellings (rentals of less than 30 days) are currently prohibited in Lake Oswego’s residential areas. In April, the City Council directed the Planning Commission to recommend development code changes that would allow STRs on a limited basis in neighborhoods. Any code change if approved by City Council would be temporary, as it would include a sunset provision requiring an evaluation after a certain period of time, and reauthorization by City Council would be required before STRs could continue.
On June 25, 2018 at 6:30 pm, the Planning Commission will hold its first work session on the topic of Short Term Rentals (STRs). The purpose of this work session is for the Planning Commission to review the proposed work plan, outreach and timeline for studying STRs, prior to making a recommendation on potential Community Development Code (CDC) amendments to the City Council this fall. This is the first of three Planning Commission work sessions on STRs this summer. The staff memo and attachments can be viewed at the link below. If you would like to participate in the June 25 work session, you must sign up in advance to be assured of time to address the Commission. (Others may address the Commission that evening as time allows.) Please contact Leslie Hamilton, Senior Planner, at email@example.com, 503-675-3731, to have your name added to an interested parties/speakers list. There will be additional opportunities for public input at two subsequent work session this summer, and into the fall when public hearings are expected to begin.
