Construction Work Hours

Excavation, demolition, alteration or repair of any building or structure at any time other than during the following hours, except by special permit granted by the City Manager:

  • Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in residential zones, or Monday through Saturday in other than residential zones;

  • Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday in residential zones;

  • Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and the following holidays, if such work does not require a permit under Chapter 45 of this Code:

  • New Year’s Day (January 1);

  • Labor Day (the first Monday in September);

  • Thanksgiving Day (the fourth Thursday in November);

  • Christmas Day (December 25);

  • Monday, when New Year’s Day or Christmas Day Falls on the preceding Sunday; and

  • Friday, when New Year’s Day or Christmas Day Falls on the succeeding Saturday.
