IMPROVING THE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMIT PROCESS
CITY LAUNCHES PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS - IMPROVING THE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING PERMIT PROCESS
The new Application Completeness Review Process for new single family residential buildings is intended to reduce the overall time it takes to issue permits when no land use decision is required. The pilot program also seeks to improve the quality of plan submittals and avoid complications once construction begins. The program consists of clearer instructions to builders in the form of a unified checklist for Planning, Building, Engineering and Fire, and improved coordination among City staff through a standing ‘application review’ meeting.
