Industrial Zones
Lake Oswego has 156 acres of industrial land in two zone districts -- the smaller Foothills area between Highway 43 and the Willamette River, and a 115-acre Southwest Employment Area off Boones Ferry Road near I-5.
Southwest Employment Area
The I-5 Industrial Park (IP) zone is home to companies including Biotronik, Microsystems Engineering, Westmark Industries, and Taylor Made Labels. In 2016, the City Council adopted the Southwest Employment Area Plan and Southwest Overlay District (LOC 50.08) for this light industrial zone and adjacent General Commercial (GC) and Neighborhood Commercial (NC) zones to support private investment and job growth in this diverse employment area.
The Industrial Park and General Commercial zones in the Southwest Employment Area are also within the Tigard/Lake Oswego Enterprise Zone, which provides an opportunity for eligible firms to receive a 3-5 year tax abatement on capital investments when the firm also grows its workforce by at least 10%.
