In 2014 the City of Lake Oswego embarked on a continuous process improvement program. “Lean Oswego,” as the program has been dubbed by city staff, is focused on improving service to customers by streamlining and otherwise improving city processes. A side benefit, in many cases, is improved efficiency. Savings in staff time and operating costs (e.g., electricity) through the changes to date are estimated at over $600,000 per year.
