Recreation/Aquatic Facility Input Session #2

Monday, February 3, 2020 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

The Lake Oswego School District Board of Directors and some members of the Lake Oswego City Council will host two community input sessions about a possible joint recreation/aquatic facility. There may be a quorum of City Councilors present. No decisions will be made at the sessions.

Invited groups will give verbal testimony during their scheduled time. Other guests may listen from the gallery, as well as provide written testimony at the meeting or via an online feedback form. Additional information is available on the LOSD website.

  • Input Session January 30, 4-6:30 p.m., Gym, Fitness Room, Golfers and Neighborhood Associations
Maintenance Center, Willow Room, 17601 Pilkington Rd.
  • Input Session February 3, 4-6 p.m., Pool Users and Unaffiliated
Maintenance Center, Willow Room, 17601 Pilkington Rd.

Please click here to access the current concept proposal, the online feedback form, and list of leads who have been asked to organize verbal testimony on behalf of their respective user groups.

The user group input sessions are public meetings. Designated leads of the invited groups are being asked to give verbal testimony during their scheduled time. Other guests are welcome to sit and listen from the gallery, as well as provide written testimony at the meeting or via the online feedback form to capture all input. These feedback forms will be part of public record.

The leader from each user group will have an allocated allotment of time to provide testimony.  By clicking on this link, you will find the names and contact information for the leaders who have been identified to serve as a spokesperson for each of the various user groups. We encourage you to reach out to the leaders of any groups you identify with to ensure that your input is included in that testimony.

Please note that the final “user group” at the hearings is for testimony from unaffiliated users. We hope that residents who want to offer testimony that is outside the user groups identified, but still germane to the facilities under discussion, can take this opportunity to have their voice heard at that time.

We are also providing an opportunity for written testimony relative to the user groups. Please click on the link to the online feedback form to provide written testimony.  Please note that if we receive written testimony about facilities or programs other than those being considered in this process, we will forward that information to the appropriate personnel. That testimony will not be included in the final summary for this effort, which will be available to the public once the process is complete.

It is the hope of the Lake Oswego City Council and the Lake Oswego School District Board of Directors that this combined testimony, along with budget considerations, will help inform the formal recommendations that will then be shared back with the community-at-large at an Open House prior to a final vote by both bodies.

Participation from the diversity of voices in Lake Oswego will provide your elected officials with an invaluable perspective for what can sometimes be challenging decisions on behalf of all its residents.
