Lake Oswego National Night Out Registration
The City is encouraging residents to get to know their neighbors and we think the best way to do this is to have a party!
Everyone enjoys a potluck, BBQ, music and games, so organize a get-together for Tuesday, August 6 - National Night Out - and invite your friends and neighbors. Then, let us know!
If you register your neighborhood party with the City by Tuesday, July 30, your party will receive a visit by a fire truck or police car, maybe even a Police K9. Plus, they will bring cookies! The ACC bus and Library ROVER will also stop by a few parties to say hello. This is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors and amazing City staff, plus have fun!
Neighborhood block parties are great because they can be as large or small as you want - invite everyone on your block or expand it to a few block area. Plan your party at a local park shelter*, in a front yard or driveway, or at the end of a cul-de-sac. Normally, if a block party will restrict a public street, a City permit is required - but for this night only, the City will waive the requirement for those that register. However, if you do need to fully close your street, then a permit would still be necessary - but we may have some ideas, so please give us a call.
If you have any questions, please contact Bonnie Hirshberger at 503-675-3992 or at bhirshberger@lakeoswego.city.
* Reservations required and based on availability.
** Please note that our Fire and Police Departments will do their best to stop by every party, but, that is not a guarantee. At anytime they can be pulled away to respond to a call.
