Youth Programs

Leadership opportunities for residents in grades six through twelve.

The City of Lake Oswego offers six core youth programs, each focused on a different aspect of local change-making.

  • Youth Leadership Council learn about local government and provide a youth perspective on issues that impact the community– visiting City facilities, the state Capitol, and Washington, DC.
  • Youth Action Council members roll up their sleeves, volunteering at least 30 hours and organizing a series of community events.
  • The City Council Advisory Boards provide space for delivering input directly to community leaders.
  • Library Teen Advisory Board members collaboratively shape the Lake Oswego Public Library’s events and programs.
  • Library Junior Teen Idea Club (new!)  Middle schoolers club dedicated to socializing and helping guide the library’s tween programming throughout the school year.
  • Jr Camp Counselors Opportunity for pre-employment experience by staffing City summer camps  Geared toward students ages 13-17.
