Families pursue lofty reading goals

Families continue to participate in Library programming throughout the quarantine

Over 300 children are enrolled in our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, and happily, are still reading.

This week, Stryder Townshend reached that mighty goal of having read (or listened to) 1000 books. His mother reached out to see if there was any way for him to be recognized, as he was very proud of his accomplishment.

With the protocols in place for Curbside holds Pick-up, we were able to make an appointment for them and meet them with, not only his certificate, but also a free book, and his last two patches.

The Kids’ library website has more information and links for people to download log sheets so that everyone can continue to pursue their goals. We are working on plans for children and their families to be able to receive support and other services in person soon.

So if any of you have young readers in the house, keep up the good work, we have certificates ready and waiting for all of you.
