The Library presents LaRhonda Steele on December 3.
Known as "The First Lady of Portland Blues," LaRhonda will captivate the audience with her soulful voice and dynamic performances. Her music, which blends blues and gospel, has earned her numerous accolades, including induction into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame and the Oregon Folklife Network’s Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program award.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the magic of LaRhonda Steele’s music in an intimate setting. Admission is free, but seating is limited, so arrive early to secure your spot.
The City encourages residents to clear leaves and other debris from storm drains near their property. A quick sweep with a broom or rake will easily clear off a catch basin and keep our drainage systems flowing properly. Remember, never remove a storm drain cover or attempt to clean a drain located in a busy street.
Put leaves and other yard debris in your yard waste bins for easy removal and recycling. Do not put leaves onto the street.
Join local author Becky Ellis on Tuesday, December 17 at Lake Theater and Cafe as she explores the profound impact of silence, secrets, and storytelling in our lives, sharing her own journey as a powerful example.
When her father turned 89, he broke 70 years of silence and revealed war secrets that had shaped Becky's upbringing. This moment encouraged Becky to share her own story, shining a light on the generational impact of war and silence.
This program is offered by Lake Oswego Public Library in cooperation with the Lake Theater & Café. Admission is free and no ticket is required (though food and drink purchase are encouraged to offset the cost to the Lake Theater). Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the presentation begins at 7 p.m.
The Lake Oswego City Council will hold its annual goal setting retreat on Saturday, January 25, 2025 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Adult Community Center. In preparation for its annual goal setting retreat, the City Council would like to hear from the community.
Please take a few minutes before 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, to share your input online.
Comments will be shared with the City Council before their retreat.
