Newberg Man Arrested in Connection with Sex Crime Investigation Involving Underage Girls

LAKE OSWEGO – On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at about 1:08 pm, Lake Oswego Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a sex crime investigation involving underage girls.

On Monday, July 20, 2026, police received a call from a parent reporting their 13-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted by a 28-year-old man. Through their investigation, officers and detectives determined there were actually two 13-year-old victims, and were able to identify the suspect as Julian Ames-Bonilla.

Lake Oswego Police Arrest Suspect in Multi-County Mail Theft Investigation

On June 8, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Lake Oswego Communications received a report of a suspicious individual believed to be stealing mail from the United States Postal Service mailbox located at 501 4th Street in Lake Oswego.

Lake Oswego Police officers responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle. As an officer attempted to follow the vehicle, the driver eluded police.

Through subsequent investigation it was determined the vehicle was a rental car associated with a property in unincorporated Oregon City.

Police Investigate "Swatting" Incident at Lakeridge High School

LAKE OSWEGO – On Monday, June 1, 2026, at about 10:25 am, Lakeridge High School was the target of a “swatting” incident involving a threatening phone call, which prompted a rapid response from police. Swatting is a hoax where a person makes a call about an ongoing threat that is intended to provoke a large police response at a particular address or location.

The school was immediately placed in secure while police investigated the incident and, once it was determined there was no threat, they decided to remain in secure for the rest of the day out of an abundance of caution.

Lake Oswego Police Arrest Former School District Employee for Trespass

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, Lake Oswego Communications (LOCOM) received a report from an employee of the Lake Oswego School District (LOSD) regarding a former employee who had been previously trespassed from district property. The individual was reportedly attending a sporting event at Lake Oswego High School and had already been asked to leave by district staff at the event.
