Street Sweeping
Public Works Maintenance crews provide street sweeping to keep streets clean and free of debris. Sweeping improves air quality by removing airborne particles and improves water quality by keeping debris out of storm water lines and creeks.
As a rule, the downtown/commercial areas of the City are swept every other week. Arterials and collectors are swept at least 12 times per year. Curbed residential areas are swept as time allows and debris dictates -- generally four to six times a year and more often during the fall and winter to remove leaves and debris.
