Fire Camp 2024

Interested in becoming a firefighter? 

The Lake Oswego Fire Department is offering a free three-day camp for teens ages 15-18. Fire Camp is an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experiences and develop leadership, confidence, and teamwork skills.

Fire Camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 28. Camp locations will vary by day, but will include the Westlake Fire Station tower, City Maintenance Center and George Rogers Park.

Hands-on skills will include:

  • Engine Day: hose handling and advancing charged lines 
  • Truck Day: Aerial ladder climb, knots and extrications with the spreaders and cutters (jaws of life)
  • Specialty Teams: Dive and boat operations at George Rogers park. Campers will be able to go out on the boat and tend lines for a diver
