October 6th through the 12th

NOT EVERY HERO WEARS A CAPE.

PLAN and PRACTICE your ESCAPE!

For some of us a "hero" is a larger-than-life character that swoops in to save the day. For others it is a high achiever who is looked up to as a role model or a stranger who in the moment of a crisis comes to the aid of others on the brink of tragedy. These are all heroes. But heroes can also be ordinary people who exhibit courageous behavior by taking small, but important, actions every day to keep themselves and those around them safe. They understand that house fires don't just happen to other people and that it's important to plan, just in case.

5 Behaviors That Can Increase Your Chance of Surviving a House Fire

  1. Stay calm and focused.
  2. Act immediately after the smoke alarm sounds.
  3. Maintain your smoke alarms.
  4. Be aware of the possibility of fire.
  5. Get out and let the fire department put out the fire.
