All new buildings must provide access to the Fire Department in emergency situations. Lake Oswego Fire Department has selected the Knox company for our lock box program.
The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for conducting inspections on all new businesses and all construction projects. The Fire Department has developed a "New Construction Checklist" to assist developers and contractors with requirements from the Fire Code.
Fire access roads need to be a minimum of 20' in width. To prevent parking in the fire access road, signage on the curb or signs posted along the road are required.

To request an inspection from the Fire Marshal's Office for new construction, fire alarm or sprinklers, contact our office at
503-635-0275 preferably 48-hours in advance. If the request is less then 48-hours, we might not be able to conduct the inspection if we are not available.
