The City of Lake Oswego has referred a general obligation bond measure to the May 2026 ballot to fund the replacement of the existing South Shore Fire Station.
The Lake Oswego Fire Department invites you to an open house and tour at the South Shore Fire Station!
Stop by the South Shore Fire Station, 1880 South Shore Blvd, between 1 and 3 p.m. to learn about the department and proposed station replacement project.

We are thrilled to launch our first “Fireside with the Chief” series at the Lake Oswego Recreation & Aquatic Center (LORAC).
This is a casual opportunity to sit down as neighbors, share a cup of coffee, and discuss the safety topics that matter most to you. In an emergency, every second counts - by building a relationship with your fire department now, we create a more prepared and resilient Lake Oswego together.
Join us in the LORAC Fireplace Lobby:
- Thursday, April 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
No RSVP required – just bring your questions!
The City is replacing the mid-block crosswalk on 1st Street, between A Avenue and Evergreen Road. Construction of the crosswalk is expected to take place in mid-late April and take up to two weeks to complete.
During construction, 1st Street, between A Avenue and Evergreen Road, and Evergreen Road, between 1st Street and 2nd Street will temporarily transition to one-way traffic. All vehicular traffic: please enter 1st Street from A Avenue, and exit onto Evergreen Road. 2nd Street will remain open to two-way traffic.
