Camp LOPL - Busy Bugs

Wednesday, July 9, 2025 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm

Join your library friends at Rossman Park - just down the block from the library. During eight straight weeks of our Summer Library Challenge, we'll meet on Wednesday afternoons for programs and crafts. Drop-in as you wish, no registration necessary!

Educator/author/scientist Rick Reynolds leads fun science activities and a short book reading. Use magnifying devices to observe pond water: what do you see? Come learn about freshwater ecosystems and creatures found in them. Discover differences between natural wetlands and backyard standing water. Investigate mosquitoes and how to stay safe from them. Explore ways to help wildlife, including creating habitat and stopping invasive animals and plants. We'll have associated crafts and games too! Get a free copy of Beware of Mosquitula! and/or Mosquitula Meets the Great Gambusi from Clackamas County Vector Control. Learn more: https://fightthebites.com/education
