Global Stories - Estonian

Saturday, November 2, 2024 - 10:30am to 11:00am

First Saturday Readalouds feature stories and songs told in different languages by Lake Oswego community members. Each month spotlights a different world language, familiar songs, and a simple craft.

In November we welcome Annely to lead our readaloud in Estonian. From Annely:

Annely was born In Estonia, under Soviet Union without freedom of speech, travel or religion. Annely has always loved a good story, poetry, myth and theatre. At the age of 26 she escaped from communist regime and currently spends her time between Canada, Mexico and Portland. Grandchildren Aya 8 and Aero 5 bring her here. They share her love of reading, visits to libraries and pick up books at “leave a book, take a book” on walks around Lake Oswego. Annely reads in English and  Estonian.

(If your native language is not English, and you are interested in reading a story aloud to children at the library, please speak to one of our Youth Services Librarians for more information.)
