Global Stories - French
First Saturday Readalouds feature stories and songs told in different languages by Lake Oswego community members. Each month spotlights a different world language, familiar songs, and a simple craft.
In December we welcome Eva to lead our readaloud in French. She shared the following:
My name is Eva Van Der Linden and although my last name may sound Dutch, I’m from France! I was born near Paris in a small town called Étampes and moved to the SW of France in Bordeaux by the age of 8. In 2014, I made the big leap and moved to the Pacific Northwest. It is now my 10th year in Oregon and I have been enjoying being a tutor and a coach for people wishing to speak French. I also recently wrote a children's book in French and English that I hope will be published by next year.
Mom of two little ones, Lucia (7) and Elio (3), we love to talk in both English and French at home and outside, depending on which language will come to us first.
I’m looking forward to introduce myself to you and talk a bit more about France!
Merci beaucoup,
Eva
