Global Stories - Romanian
This event repeats every month on June, July, August, September, October, November, December on the first Saturday.
First Saturday Readalouds featured stories and songs told in different languages by Lake Oswego community members. Each month spotlights a different world language, familiar songs, and a simple craft.
This month we welcome back Alina; she was an early and enthusiastic participant in out Global Stories Project. Alina is originally from Romania and moved to the USA in 2011. She has lived in New York, NY, Berkeley, and Walnut Creek, CA. Her family has lived in Lake Oswego since May 2018. Alina and her husband Brian are the parents of two boys. Alina is very passionate about photography, human connection, psychology, nature, traveling, tea and books. Alina chose this date to visit because June 1st is an important date in Romania and for her too. It’s Children’s Day ("Ziua Copiilor”).
(If your native language is not English, and you are interested in reading a story aloud to children at the library, please speak to one of our Youth Services Librarians for more information.)
