StoryWalk

Throughout the spring and summer, the Library installs StoryWalks in parks all over the City. While we are on a seasonal break, you can learn more about the program below. For more information, contact Youth Services at 503-697-6580.

What is a StoryWalk®?

StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are displayed and installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. StoryWalks promote early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature. They are also an opportunity to reach community members who may not come to the library.

Where is the StoryWalk®?

Stories are installed in different parks throughout the City. Locations and book selections change on a semi-regular basis. Below are books we have featured in the past.
