StoryWalk "Drawn Together"
Take a walk through Woodmont Natural Park to mark AANHPI month and read our newest StoryWalk® installation, Drawn Together by Minh Lê. A young boy and his grandfather lack a common language. But as they sit down to draw together, something magical happens—with a shared love of art and storytelling, the two form a bond that goes beyond words. With luminous illustrations by Caldecott Medalist Dan Santat, this stirring picture book about reaching across barriers will be cherished for years to come.
StoryWalk® was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, and is a registered service mark of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
Woodmont Natural Park is located at 13492 Atwater Ln., Lake Oswego. For more information, contact the Children’s desk at 503-697-6580
What is a StoryWalk®?
StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are displayed and installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. StoryWalks promote early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature. They are also an opportunity to reach community members who may not come to the library.
Where is the StoryWalk®?
Stories are installed in different parks throughout the City. Locations and book selections change on a semi-regular basis. Below are books we have featured in the past.
