StoryWalk "Like You, Like Me"
August 1-31, during park hours
Visit West Waluga Park to read our newest StoryWalk® installation, "Like You, Like Me" by Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw. These pen pals live on separate continents--one in the mountains in North America, and the other beside the sea in Africa. By exchanging letters, they learn that their feelings about their individual experiences hold many similarities. This story celebrates the connections between two kids who live worlds apart.
West Waluga Park is located at 15775 Waluga Dr., Lake Oswego. For more information, contact the Children’s desk at 503-697-6580.
What is a StoryWalk®?
StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are displayed and installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. StoryWalks promote early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature. They are also an opportunity to reach community members who may not come to the library.
Where is the StoryWalk®?
Stories are installed in different parks throughout the City. Locations and book selections change on a semi-regular basis. Below are books we have featured in the past.
