Water Safety with WaterStrong
Saturday, May 17, 2025 - 10:30am to 11:30am
Lower level, Children's Library
In anticipation of the new Lake Oswego Recreation and Aquatics Center (LORAC), the library is hosting a program designed to introduce children to the essentials of water safety. Participants will learn how to fit a lifejacket properly, assess the safety of a swimming location, employ the buddy system, practice safe entry and exit, and practice basic assists (self-assist, reach assist, throw assist, call assist).
Our presenters are WaterStrong of Portland, Oregon. Established in 2016, WaterStrong is a registered tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to end drowning and promote safer, cleaner waters.
Open to: Anyone 5 years old and up
