Ancestry produces what is often considered the preeminent genealogical database. In addition to fully indexed census records of all US census years, Ancestry contains thousands of other databases, including ship's records, banking records, vital statistics, and many, many more. (Lake Oswego Public Library patrons can currently access this resource from home!  Normally, this resource is only accessible within the library building.)

Logging in to the mobile app for the first time?  Here's what you need to know:

  1. Open the app and select Sign IN
  2. You do not need to create a LinkedIn account. Just select Sign in with your library card
  3. In the Enter your Library ID field enter lakeoswego (make sure it is all lower case)
  4. Enter your library card barcode and PIN and select Continue.

Literature Criticism & Literary Biography
Provides literature criticism articles that have been published from June 2007 to the present in Gale Contemporary Literary Criticism, as well as Nineteenth Century Literature Criticism and Twentieth Century Literary Criticism. The Dictionary of Literary Biography Complete Online provides authoritative information while placing writers in the larger perspective of literary history.
