The Electoral College: Red State, Blue State, Out of Date? Let's Debate!

Tuesday, April 23, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Love it or hate it, the Electoral College is the process the United States uses to choose a President every four years. Political-science professor Ed Dover will take you through the history of the Electoral College, the mechanics of how it works, and the benefits and drawbacks of using this system to elect our nation’s chief executive. He will provide plenty of time for audience questions and discussion. Edwin D. Dover, professor emeritus of political science at Western Oregon University, has taught and written about American politics and presidential elections for over 40 years. He has a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. This free presentation is made possible by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Library. The event will be at Lake Oswego Public Library, 706 Fourth St., Lake Oswego, OR 97034. For more information, please call or email Chris Myers, 503-534-5667 / cmyers@lakeoswego.city
