Film Discussion Group: Life, Animated
Join us for a free screening followed by a discussion. The film this month is Life, Animated, an inspirational coming-of-age story that follows Owen, a boy with autism, as he takes his first steps toward independence. Nominated for Best Documentary at the Academy Awards, Life, Animated evocatively interweaves classic Disney sequences with scenes from Owen’s life in order to explore how his identification with and empathy for Disney characters gave him a means to understand his feelings and interpret reality.
Each month we watch a movie together and follow it up with a discussion. Recommended for ages 18 and over. These movies may contain scenes or elements that are appropriate for mature audiences only.
