First Tuesday Music: Elizabeth Dreyfuss
Actress, singer, and dancer, Liz Dreyfuss will be singing American jazz standards, popular songs, and show tunes from The Great American Songbook with the accompaniment of guitarist Stephen Blackman.
Liz was born into a 4 generation showbiz family and left home at 15 years old to star as the lead role of a professional musical in London. She regularly performed in London’s West End and has acted in BBC’s TV plays and comedy shows. Her credentials also include writing and acting in cabaret shows and singing at Jazz Festivals.
Last year after the death of her beloved husband (the actor, film producer, and screenplay writer, Lorin Dreyfuss), she moved to Lake Oswego to be near her son. Although she is retired, Liz believes that music is good for the soul, especially in these times, and so she would like to share that with our community in this special performance.
Stephen Blackman is a multifaceted musician whose music begins deep within the jazz tradition. His skilled arrangements add spice to the classic jazz repertoire.
Admission is free. The library is located at 706 Fourth Street, Lake Oswego, OR 97034. For more information, please contact April Younglove at 503-534-5667 / ayounglove@ci.oswego.or.us.
