First Tuesday Music: Nicole Stromsoe and Dorian Michael

Tuesday, July 2, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Gifted vocalist Nicole Stromsoe and standout acoustic guitarist  Dorian Michael make their First Tuesday Music debut at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2. The duo will perform an atmospheric blend of eclectic, old soul, jazz, and blues,
Nicole Stromsoe's voice has been described as "nourishing, sensual, and rich in quality." Nicole is a California native who graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She lists some favorite current musical artists include David Byrne, MeShell Ndegeocello, Gregory Porter, Bjork, Jill Scott, Lila Downs, Eileen Jewell, and Rachelle Ferrel, but says most of her musical influences are artists no longer in performance. Dorian Michael has been performing on guitar for nearly 40 years. He plays acoustic and electric, solo and with numerous groups.  Dorian says of his work: "I think of my acoustic solo music as 'contemporary traditional'--original music that reflects my interest in a number of styles of music. These influences come through in my original material, but it is a contemporary music that grows from, rather than mimics, those influences." Spokane-based vocalist Keleran Millham has said of Dorian: “There is an integrity and clarity to his work”.  Dorian gave a memorable Second Wednesday performance at Lake Oswego Public Library last year, and we are thrilled he has returned with Nicole to perform as part of our First Tuesday series.

This free performance is made possible by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library, and will take place at Lake Oswego Public Library, 706 Fourth Street, Lake Oswego, OR 97034. For more information, please email or call librarian Chris Myers / / 503-534-5667
