Freedom to Read Movie Event: Banned Together

We’re pausing our World Cinema lineup to bring you a special Freedom to Read screening: Banned Together.

This powerful feature-length documentary follows three high school students and their allies as they fight to reinstate 97 books abruptly removed from their school libraries. As their movement grows, they take their case to the national stage—meeting bestselling authors, constitutional experts, PEN America representatives, and policymakers—shedding light on the mounting wave of book bans and curriculum censorship across the United States.

This event takes place at Lake Theater & Café. Admission is free and no ticket is required, though food and drink purchases are encouraged to help offset the cost to the Lake Theater.
