FTRM: Dear Stranger Letter Writing Exchange

Sunday, October 11, 2026 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

The Oregon Humanities’ Dear Stranger project connects people through anonymous letter exchanges, inviting participants to share experiences, beliefs, and ideas with someone they’ve never met. As part of Freedom to Read Month, this creative letter-writing workshop is inspired by The Perks of Being a Wallflower, in which the main character uses anonymous letters to process experiences and express what he can’t say aloud. Write to a friend, your future self, or a stranger. No prior reading of the book is required. Supplies, prompts, and postage will be provided. The Library will also serve as a Dear Stranger drop-off site throughout the month.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library and LO for LOve. Participation is free and no registration is required.

Lake Oswego Public Library is located at 706 Fourth Street, Lake Oswego.  For more information, contact loref@lakeoswego.city or call 503-675-2540.
