HYBRID: First Tuesday Music: Marimba Mike

Tuesday, April 1, 2025 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Join us for an inspiring event with Michael Charles Smith, known as "Marimba Mike," for an uplifting and exciting musical performance that is part of our LO Reads series featuring themes of redemption and community building through art and literature. Michael passionately believes in the transformative power of music and has dedicated himself to fostering community through his musical endeavors.

Through his work with children in schools and his new adult performance group, Michael has brought people together, creating healing and connection, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic. His efforts have shown how music can bridge gaps and build strong, supportive communities.

In addition to his inspiring stories, Michael will also delve into the fascinating mechanics of the marimba, explaining how it works and the intricacies of its sound. Don't miss this chance to explore the profound impact of music on our lives and communities with Marimba Mike.
