HYBRID: Getting Started with AI: What ChatGPT Can and Can’t Do

Sunday, June 28, 2026 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

This a free, beginner-friendly, two-hour workshop designed for seniors, small-business owners, educators, and anyone curious about artificial intelligence, especially those who do not consider themselves “tech people.”

Led by Terrence Scott, Instructional Design Manager and Adjunct Instructor at Portland State University, and Shaw Millerman, Technical Program Manager and data-systems specialist, this hands-on session offers a clear, practical introduction to what tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini actually do and how they work in plain English.

Participants are encouraged to bring a smartphone or tablet to follow along with guided activities that show how AI can simplify everyday tasks such as writing emails, planning trips, organizing ideas, or creating classroom materials.

A recorded livestream will be available.
