HYBRID: Mary Celeste: The Solved Mystery of a Ghost Ship

Saturday, May 6, 2023 - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

Join us in the library or watch the live stream of this presentation.

Meet the author Dr. Veronica Esagui at this presentation and signing of her latest historical fiction book, Mary Celeste: The Solved Mystery of a Ghost Ship.

The Mary Celeste was an American Brigantine ship found adrift and deserted off the coast of Azores, on December 4, 1872.  News media at the time pointed the finger at pirates, or the possibility that they had been abducted by outer space creatures, or perhaps the crew drank the denatured alcohol on board and everyone went mad, killing each other. The vanishing of Captain Briggs, his wife, child and crew remained a ghostly mystery for over a century and a half until now, when Dr. Veronica Esagui was told the true story of the Mary Celeste by those that lived through such a fateful voyage.

This event is made possible by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library, and admission is free.  The library is located at 706 Fourth Street, Lake Oswego, OR 97034. For more information, please call or email Todd Feinman at 503-675-2535 / tfeinman@lakeoswego.city.
