HYBRID: Special Olympics Oregon: Past, Present and Future
Join us for a presentation by local resident Joanne Trask in honor of Disability Pride Month! Special Olympics was founded in 1968 and has grown to become a global sports organization for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We will look at the origin of the organization and the history, current program activities and goals for the future of Special Olympics Oregon. A Special Olympics Oregon athlete, coach and parent/caregiver will share their perspectives.

Joanne Trask is a retired environmental consultant who has lived in Lake Oswego for 36 years. She has been a volunteer with Special Olympics Oregon for 23 years. Her volunteer activities include coaching Basketball, Soccer, Cycling, Tennis and Hiking. She has also served on the Special Olympics Oregon Clackamas County Management Team and served as the Clackamas County Local Program Coordinator for six years. She currently volunteers with the tennis program and assists the Special Olympic Oregon Clackamas County Medical Manager in processing athlete medical forms.
