The Library Gets a Lift
Hi there! We wanted to let you know that the library elevator will be temporarily out-of-service this season, while it is modernized to improve the safety and functionality of its service to our busy, 3-floor public library. This project is tentatively scheduled to run from November 29 - January 7, 2022.
Library staff have prepared accommodations to serve visitors who rely on the elevator to access materials, equipment or services on another floor during the approximate 6-week downtime. An accessible public internet station and printer will be available on the main floor, as well as designated stroller parking. Our friendly librarians are eager to retrieve materials from another floor upon request. Please do let staff know how we can assist you during this time!
Visitors to the library may experience some disruptions from noise, vibrations, or odors as a result of this project, particularly in the first week during demolition.
When the project is complete, visitors to the library will notice an upgraded elevator car featuring a new control panel, flooring, and brushed stainless steel ceiling with LED lighting. Behind the scenes, the elevator will also be upgraded with a new microprocessor controller, leveling switches, door operator, hydraulic tank unit, roller guides, emergency battery lowering device, and more.
We thank you for your patience as we make these essential upgrades to our elevator system.
