Lunar New Year Festival 2024
Saturday, February 3, 2024 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Celebrate the Year of the Dragon by joining members of our community in a variety of fun activities for the whole family!
- 1:00 - 1:20 pm – Stop by the Children’s Library (lower level) to listen to children’s stories read in Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese.
- 1:30 - 1:55 pm – On the main floor, children from Heart Strings Mandarin will offer a special performance of songs, dance, and poetry.
- 2:00 - 2:15 pm – Delight in a spectacular lion dance performance by members of The White Lotus Dragon and Lion Dance.
- 2:30 – 2:45 pm – Enjoy a special Nanta Drumming & Korean Fan Dance by Oregon Korean Performing Arts.
- 3:00 - 4:00 pm – Head to the Children’s Library to learn the traditional way to fold a dumpling or to make red envelopes. Or, head to the 2nd floor for a Chinese ink painting demonstration by local artist Yanan Dai.
This festival was organized in collaboration with LO for LOve and Palisades World Language School and is sponsored by the Friends of the Lake Oswego Public Library. Floral arrangements will be created and donated by Diane (Wang) Dixon. Admission is free. The library is located at 706 Fourth Street, Lake Oswego.
