Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration
The Bahá’ís of Lake Oswego have hosted commemorations for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for the past 30 years. At one time the events were held in the City Council chambers, other years at the Lake Oswego Public Library. For the last several years, the event has been held at the Lake Oswego United Church of Christ (UCC) and Beit Haverim on the Sunday before MLK Day. This year, the beloved tradition continues with a new twist – it is a virtual recording that includes a video clip of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and features inspiring performances by children and youth from Lake Oswego's Bahá’í, UCC, and Beit Haverim communities. We invite you to view this special community celebration of Dr. King’s legacy.
