Nominated for a UNESCO Prize, the Global Art Project is an international art exchange for peace which has involved 160,000 participants in 95 countries on seven continents. 200+ Regional Coordinators help to organize and spread the word in their part of the world. The Project was founded in Tucson, Arizona, USA in 1993 by artist, Katherine Josten. Participants create a work of art in any medium, expressing their vision of global peace and goodwill. The art is displayed locally in each participant’s community. Global Art Project then organizes an international exchange by matching participants—group-to-group and individual-to-individual.
