
Digital Collections
Mission:
The mission of the photo collection is to visually document the history of Lake Oswego and its environs and to maintain, preserve, and protect the collection in a safe repository with access available to library patrons and visitors.
Use, Reproduction, & Publication:
The Lake Oswego Public Library collection of more than 6,000 historic photographs has been scanned at 600 dpi whenever possible. The original collection is available from the library website at the following link: Historic Photo Database We are in the process of creating and populating a digital archive which will include the photos from the historic photos database along with documents and the collections belonging to the Oswego Heritage Council. You may reproduce or download these photos without prior permission on the condition that you provide proper acknowledgement to the Lake Oswego Public Library on all copies unless otherwise noted in the database. (You may use a statement such as “Courtesy of the Lake Oswego Public Library.”)
The Lake Oswego Public Library claims only physical ownership of this collection. Persons wishing to broadcast or publish this material must assume all responsibility for identifying and satisfying any claimants of copyrights.
The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Lake Oswego Public Library and the City of Lake Oswego, its officers, employees and agents from and against all suits, claims, actions, and expenses arising out of the use of reproductions from the Lake Oswego Public Library Historic Photos Collection.
